(BRAMPTON, ON)– The Brampton A’s have marked its third straight win with a 131-118 victory over the London Lightning Sunday afternoon. The A’s are now 3-5 on the season.

Brampton jumped out to an early 7-4 lead atop the first quarter. After trading baskets as the stint progressed, the Lightning managed to grab a small advantage of four points. London’s run did not startle the A’s as the home team began to move the ball well and get to the basket to regain its lead.

The A’s snagged 13 points off of Lightning turnovers in the first half as they headed to the locker room ahead 61-50. Ashton Smith and TyShwan Edmondson led the A’s with 12 and 11 points respectively.

The Lightning knocked down a few shots from downtown to spark a 10-2 run atop the third quarter. London got within five points of the A’s lead but did not have enough fuel to ignite a large enough run to overtake Brampton. The A’s continued to utilize its post presence in addition to selectively taking shots from beyond the arc to notch an 18 point lead in the fourth quarter.

Team work was the name of the game for the A’s as eight players scored in double figures. Richard Amardi led the way with 21 points, while Edmondson finished with 18 points. Flenard Whitfield recorded a team high 11 rebounds.

Marvin Phillips of the Lightning registered a game-high 26 points and 20 rebounds.
