Lightning release Canty, add Canadian Kyle Johnson

December 29, 2016 (LONDON, Ontario) – The London Lightning has released guard Kareem Canty and has added Scarborough native, Kyle Johnson, to their roster.

Johnson is a 6’4” shooting guard that played collegiately Long Island University Brooklyn. Since then he has played in leagues around the world and has played in the 2012 Olympics in London for team Great Britain.

“Kyle is a proven player that has played at some of the highest level in the world. He’s also proven himself in the European championships with the British national team. He adds depth and maturity and we know he is going to fit in well with our group,” said head coach Kyle Julius.

Johnson will play in tomorrow night’s game in Niagara against the River Lions.
