Man it was an amazing Christmas out here in the UK. We got a couple days off for the holidays. My friend from Toronto that I grew up with and actually have been friends with since 1998 (I sound old) flew out to visit me. He didn’t want me to spend Christmas alone. So with the couple days we had off we headed to Central London to sightsee, which was awesome. Central London is such a cool city with so much to do and see. The best part about the trip was that I was able to go visit my Dad’s old house and elementary school where he lived back in the 70’s. That was a surreal experience as he hasn’t been back since the 70s. I Face-timed him when I was there and it was a special moment for the both of us. With all that taking place we still had a huge game to play vs the London Lions and try and close out 2015 on a strong note. I travelled back to Worcester for practice on the 26th and we had the game the following day.

The game was intense. With our two starting big man still injured, we were still short handed. My friend from Canada also came to the game so that was pretty cool. We were up by 1 point at half time but coach was not happy with our performance up to that point, he said we needed to pick it up. The game was back and forth until we pulled away and went up by 8 points in the 3rd quarter, but London fought back and ended up taking a 6 point lead with just over a minute to play. Then I came down the court and knew I had to try and make something happen. I took a 3 pointer to try and spark a comeback and it went in!!! We were down by 3 now. Then on defense we got a steal and my teammate Jay Couisnard outlet the ball to me and I scored a layup which put us down by 1. On the following possession we got another stop on defence and we came back down on offence with about 40 seconds left and I drove kicked it out to Jay and he shot a 3 pointer. And swish!!!!!! We took a two point lead and the fans went crazy! We were able to stop them from scoring again and they had to foul us. We made our free throws and were able to pull out a 4 point victory, 79-75! It was a great way to end the year for our team and fans. I was happy with the way were fought back and showed character as a team. I finished with 14 points and 4 assists. We were led by our Spanish player Javier(Javi) Mugica who had a monster game with 20 points and 17 rebounds. I’m really looking forward to what’s in store in 2016. Stay tuned for all the action in my On Point Overseas Update!
Happy New Year!
