Brampton A’s Land Top Canadian Player
A week after announcing their first new player of the year, CIS star, Canadian David Tyndale, the Brampton A’s are excited to announce that their second new player of the season is another Canadian standout, Richard Amardi from the NCAA Division 1 University of Oregon. Amardi is a 6’9″, 225 pound forward with the athleticism of a point guard and skills to match.
A’s GM/Head Coach David Magley is positively thrilled with the prospects of Amardi in an A’s uniform, “Richard is an incredible athlete with remarkable skills, who has just begun to scratch the surface of his real potential. We have a unique setup, which can assist in Richard’s development as a player; we intend to generate opportunities for him to play at the highest levels. The key is him, if he will own his development I would not be surprised if we are watching him play on TV.”
The A’s play an up-tempo style of basketball and score a lot of points (led the league in points per game and 3 points attempted and made in their inaugural season). At 6’9″, to be able to shoot a 3 and compete in the paint is something that is very unique, and Amardi can do both quite adeptly.
The Brampton A’s begin their 2nd season at the Powerade Centre on November 1st, against Peel Region rival the Mississauga Power.
