LONDON, ON. – The Brampton A’s have moved to 0-3 on the season after dropping its Sunday afternoon contest to playoff nemesis, London Lightning. 119-113 was the final showing in the second straight away match for the A’s.

The A’s got off to a favourable start scoring the first five points of the game. After their short lead, Brampton was met by an eager Lightning squad who started to knock down shots and rebound to gain second chance opportunities. The A’s were not able to regain their lead, and were down by as many as 21 points. Brampton, led by Richard Armadi (13 points), headed to the locker room down 66-52 at the half.

Brampton started the second half with a vengeance against the team that ended their season early last year. The A’s marked a 5-0 run forcing London to regroup. Brampton began to take a step back from outside shooting and operate down low where they registered a 50-38 point (in the paint) advantage. Key shots from downtown brought the A’s within two points on more than one occasion, but the Lightning pulled away each time in a game of cat and mouse.

Flenard Whitfield recorded his second straight double-double as he led all scorers with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Armadi followed closely with 25 points while newcomer Akeem Scott and Anthony Harris added 19 and 14 points respectively. TyShwan Edmondson snagged 10 rebounds.

The Lightning were led by Zane Johnson who scored 25 points, while four other Lightning finished with double-figures.

Brampton will return home this Tuesday for a rematch against the Lightning for a special Remembrance Day game. Tipoff is set for 7 pm at the Powerade Centre. For single game tickets, group specials, and season tickets please contact tickets@bramptonas.ca.
