Team Canada will play European competition to prepare for FIBA Americas
With Olympic qualification on the line at the 2015 FIBA Americas Women’s Championship in Edmonton in August, Team Canada is heading to Europe to prepare. Canada’s six-game tour will feature a match-up with No. 3 ranked Spain, No. 4 ranked France and other European opponents.
“This is an exciting time for this group. The talent level is very high and we are ready to test ourselves against some strong teams during this European tour,” said Head Coach Lisa Thomaidis.
A few senior athletes still in the pool for the TO2015 Pan Am Games and FIBA Americas will not attend the European exhibition due to injury, professional contract and/or academic commitments.
