2018 BAND LAUNCH WITH SPECIAL PERFORMANCES
TORONTO, ON (April 2, 2018) – The Toronto Revellers Masquerade Band, participants in the annual Peeks Toronto Caribbean Carnival parade, will be launching its vibrant costumes with band leader and Toronto Raptors Assistant Coach, Jamaal Magloire on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the glamourous York Mills Gallery at 9:00 p.m. under this year’s theme; EXTINCTION: LOVE OUR PLANET.
Toronto Revellers are using Mas (Carnival) as a platform to bring awareness of a very serious global crisis we are facing – MASS EXTINCTION. “It’s not whether plants, animals, reefs have the will to survive, its whether humanity has the will to save them. By being conscious of our environment, we determine the fate of our planet for future of generations to come,” says Magloire. Each costume will portray the beauty of the world that surrounds us!
Hosted by Magloire, NBA All Star and Toronto Raptors Assistant Coach/Community Ambassador, along with special guest emcees: Kat Stefankiewicz, In-game host for the Toronto Raptors and NBA TV Canada personality and D’Wassi One, the evening is expected to attract more than 1,000 guests for dancing and to celebrate the start of registration for the 2018 carnival festivities.
