LAVAL, QC (September 12, 2018) – Canada Basketball is pleased to announce the 12-man roster for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers game against Brazil on Thursday.

Canada resumes the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers with a first-place showdown against Brazil on Thursday, September 13 in Laval at Place Bell. Click here for ticket information.

Following Thursday’s game, Canada will travel to Valdivia to face Chile on Monday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. EDT to conclude the fourth window.

Both games can also be streamed live in Canada on DAZN.

Head Coach Roy Rana will lead Team Canada and be joined by assistant coaches Patrick Tatham, J.D. Jackson and Michael Meeks.

With the first round of qualification now complete, the top three teams from Group B, Venezuela (5-1), Brazil (5-1) and Chile (1-5), and Group D, Canada (5-1), Dominican Republic (4-2) and U.S. Virgin Islands (2-4), will form Group F.  Canada will now face Venezuela, Brazil and Chile on a home and away basis.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China will be the biggest edition of FIBA’s flagship event with a record 32 participating teams playing 92 games over 16 days.

For the first time, the FIBA Basketball World Cup will qualify 7 teams directly for the following year’s Olympic Games.
