Tammy Sutton-Brown is a former WNBA Champion with the Indiana Fever (2012) and WNBA All-Star. She was born in Markham, Ontario and became one of the first Canadian females to play basketball at an elite collegiate level at Rutgers where she was coached by legendary hall of famer Vivian Stringer. After graduating from the NCAA Tammy was selected to play for the Charlotte Sting in the 2001 WNBA Draft. In 2002, Tammy became the first Canadian female to be named to the WNBA All-Star Game. She was almost named an All-Star in 2007. In 2012, Tammy helped lead her Indiana Fever team to a WNBA Championship. Throughout her illustrious career, Tammy also played for the Canadian National Team, representing her country on a world stage. As is stands, Tammy is arguably one of the most accomplished Canadian females in North America.
As a Canadian female who has played at every competitive level internationally around the world for almost 12 years no-stop, Tammy is now excited about the opportunity to give back to her roots. This year TSB travelled across Canada and hosted different basketball camps to identify top Canadian talent across the nation, while providing these girls with knowledge, skill development, and exposure about what it takes to play at the next level.
This July marks the inaugural Tammy Sutton-Brown, “All-Canadian Girls Basketball Exposure Camp,” which is an NCAA certified event that provides girls with the opportunity to play in front of Canadian and American coaches without having to worry about travelling to long destinations and expensive hotels in order to gain exposure during the July live period.
Tammy’s camp runs from Wednesday July 8th to Thursday July 9th and will be held at Humber College (North Campus) in Toronto. This is an individual registration camp individual, meaning you do NOT need a team to register.
There is also housing available for athletes that is walking distance from the camp camp site location.
